The Claude Code analytics dashboard shows a team's users, sessions, lines and PRs. What each plan sees, what OpenTelemetry adds, and what's missing.

Anthropic gives teams three ways to see Claude Code usage: the analytics dashboard (claude.ai for Team and Enterprise, the Claude Console for API), the Analytics APIs, and OpenTelemetry export from each developer's Claude Code. The dashboard shows adoption and output. Per-person cost comes from the spend report or OpenTelemetry, and none of them shows how close anyone is to a limit.

We read every one of these pages on 22 October 2026. They change often, so check the linked docs before you build a report on a field named here.

## Where the Claude Code analytics dashboard lives #

There are two dashboards, and which one you get depends on how your team pays.

| | Team and Enterprise | API (Claude Console) |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Address | claude.ai/analytics/claude-code | platform.claude.com/claude-code |
| Who can open it | Team: Owners and Primary Owners. Enterprise: Owners, Primary Owners and Admins (Admins can't see Spend) | Anyone with UsageView: Developer, Billing, Admin, Owner, Primary Owner |
| Usage | Lines accepted, suggestion accept rate, daily active users and sessions | The same, plus daily spend in dollars |
| Per person | Leaderboard of the top 10, CSV export of everyone's contribution data | Spend and accepted lines this month per member |
| Pull requests | PRs and lines shipped with Claude Code, through a GitHub app (public beta) | Not available |

### What the numbers mean #

- Lines of code accepted counts what people accepted in their sessions. Anthropic notes it "does not track subsequent deletions", so code that was accepted and then thrown away still counts.
- Suggestion accept rate is how often people accept Claude Code's Edit, Write and NotebookEdit tool calls.
- PRs with CC counts merged pull requests with at least one line written with Claude Code. Anthropic calls these numbers "deliberately conservative": a line rewritten by more than 20% isn't attributed, and only sessions from 21 days before to 2 days after the merge are matched.

To get pull request numbers, a GitHub admin installs the Claude GitHub app, and an Owner turns on Claude Code analytics and GitHub analytics in the admin settings. Data usually appears within 24 hours. It covers repositories on github.com only, and organisations with Zero Data Retention see usage metrics without contribution metrics.

## Who used how much: the spend report #

The dashboard on Team and Enterprise has no per-person cost. For that, an Owner exports the spend report from Settings › Analytics ("Export spend report"). It's a CSV with one row per person per model: email, product, model, requests, tokens, and net and gross spend in US dollars.

Two catches from the Help Center, as of 22 October 2026:

- For seat-based Enterprise plans, the report "covers overage spend only", and spend reports only appear once the organisation has turned on usage credits. Usage inside a seat's allowance isn't shown in dollars, so a heavy user who never went past their seat looks free. The article doesn't say how this works on Team.
- It refreshes daily with a one-day delay and reaches back 90 days.

Our guide to [Claude Team seats for Claude Code](https://shuriken.sh/guides/claude-team-seats-for-claude-code) covers how seat allowances and usage credits work.

## The Analytics APIs #

If you want the numbers in your own dashboard, there are two APIs, and they don't overlap:

- Claude Code Analytics API (/v1/organizations/usage_report/claude_code), with an Admin API key. One record per user per day: sessions, lines added and removed, commits and pull requests made by Claude Code, accepted and rejected tool calls, and tokens and estimated cost per model. Data arrives with up to an hour's delay. It covers usage signed in to your Claude Console organisation, and Anthropic says plainly that it does not return usage from Claude subscription plans (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise sign-ins), or from Bedrock, Vertex or Foundry.
- Claude Enterprise Analytics API, Enterprise only, with a key a Primary Owner creates. It reports per-user engagement, usage and cost across Claude, Claude Code included. Anthropic says it isn't available on Team.

So a Team plan has no API for its Claude Code usage. It has the dashboard, the CSV and OpenTelemetry.

Shuriken moves a running chat to another of your own accounts when one reaches its limit, on every device.

## OpenTelemetry: the one that works on every plan #

Claude Code can export its own metrics and events to any OpenTelemetry collector. Anthropic's [monitoring docs](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/monitoring-usage) start with:

bash
export CLAUDE_CODE_ENABLE_TELEMETRY=1
export OTEL_METRICS_EXPORTER=otlp
export OTEL_LOGS_EXPORTER=otlp
export OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_PROTOCOL=grpc
export OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_ENDPOINT=http://localhost:4317
claude

Per session and user, the metrics cover sessions, lines of code, commits, pull requests, cost in US dollars, tokens, edit-tool decisions and active time (claude_code.cost.usage, claude_code.token.usage and so on), exported every 60 seconds by default. Events cover each prompt, API request, error, tool result and permission decision, every 5 seconds by default. Each one carries the account UUID, an anonymous install id, and the user's email address when available.

Admins don't have to ask each developer to set this up. The same variables go in the env block of the managed settings file, and Anthropic notes that a repository's own .claude/settings.json can't turn export on or redirect it.

Two privacy points worth knowing before you switch it on: prompt text is redacted unless you set OTEL_LOG_USER_PROMPTS=1, and emails are included by default. Tell your team what you collect.

## What none of them show #

We use Claude Code all day across several accounts, and these are the questions that kept coming up for us that the official tools don't answer:

- How close each account is to its limit. As far as their docs say, none of them shows a person's 5-hour or weekly window. People check that themselves with /usage (our guide on [how to check Claude Code usage](https://shuriken.sh/guides/check-claude-code-usage) has the details).
- Seat usage in the spend report. On seat-based Enterprise plans, the CSV only shows spend once someone goes past their allowance. OpenTelemetry's cost metric is the way to put a number on the rest.
- Personal accounts. A developer who also signs in with their own Pro or Max plan shows up in neither the org's dashboard nor its API. Only OpenTelemetry, if it's set on that machine, sees them.
- Other agents. All of this is Claude Code only. Codex, Gemini CLI and the rest have their own reporting, or none.
- Projects. The dashboard groups by person and by pull request, not by repository or project. OpenTelemetry can, if you add your own resource attributes.

For a team admin running dozens of seats, Anthropic's dashboard plus OpenTelemetry is the right tool. Anthropic charges nothing extra for the dashboard or the Analytics API; the OpenTelemetry collector is yours to run. The gaps above matter more to people who work across several accounts of their own.

## How Shuriken shows spend #

Shuriken isn't a team admin console. It runs your agents on your own computers, on the sources you add: subscription sign-ins and API keys. Its Analytics page answers the questions above for your own sources. It shows what each account and key carried, counted against the account each turn actually ran on, even when a chat moved between accounts halfway. It splits spend by project and by model, over 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, 12 months or everything, and shows the work behind it: turns, active days, and tokens split into input, output and cache.

The number is an API-equivalent cost: what each turn would cost at the provider's API prices. On a subscription that's a yardstick, not a bill. Today it prices Claude Code and Codex turns, read from the transcripts your agents already write on your own computers and servers. The details are on [the fuel page](https://shuriken.sh/features/fuel).

Beside the money, Shuriken reads each account's 5-hour and weekly use, which is the "how close am I" number the official tools leave out. If you want spend by account and project for your own Claude Code and Codex work, [download Shuriken](https://shuriken.sh/download) and open Home › Analytics.

## Frequently asked questions

**Who can see the Claude Code analytics dashboard?**

On Team, Owners and Primary Owners. On Enterprise, Owners, Primary Owners and Admins, though Enterprise Admins can't see Spend. API customers need the UsageView permission in the Claude Console.

**Does the dashboard show cost per developer?**

Not on Team or Enterprise. For per-user tokens and cost, Anthropic points to OpenTelemetry export or the spend report CSV. The Console dashboard for API customers does show spend this month per member, as an estimate.

**Does the Claude Code Analytics API include Pro or Max usage?**

No. Anthropic says usage signed in with a Claude subscription is attributed to the claude.ai organization and that API doesn't return it. OpenTelemetry export works on any plan.

**Are prompts sent with OpenTelemetry?**

Not by default. Prompt text is redacted unless you set OTEL_LOG_USER_PROMPTS=1. Users' email addresses are included when available.

**How fresh is the data?**

The claude.ai spend report refreshes daily with a one-day delay. The Analytics API has up to an hour's delay. OpenTelemetry exports metrics every 60 seconds by default.
